SEPTEMBER KEY POINTS
FINAL DEMAND (EXCL. EXPORTS)
- rose 0.3% in the September quarter 2016.
- mainly due to rises in the prices received for other agriculture which includes bananas, beans and tomatoes (+8.3%), sheep, beef cattle and grain farming; and dairy cattle farming (+11.9%) and electricity supply, gas supply and water supply, sewerage and drainage services (+1.7%).
- partly offset by falls in the prices received for petroleum refining and petroleum fuel manufacturing (-5.5%), computer and electronic equipment manufacturing (-1.9%) and cigarette and tobacco product manufacturing (-5.0%).
- rose 0.5% through the year to the September quarter 2016.
INTERMEDIATE DEMAND
- rose 0.6% in the September quarter 2016.
- mainly due to rises in the prices received for electricity supply, gas supply and water supply, sewerage and drainage services (+1.2%), sheep, beef cattle and grain farming; and dairy cattle farming (+4.3%) and legal and accounting services (+1.2%).
- partly offset by falls in the prices received for computer and electronic equipment manufacturing (-2.5%), electrical equipment manufacturing (-1.8%) and polymer product manufacturing (-1.7%).
- rose 0.2% through the year to the September quarter 2016.
PRELIMINARY DEMAND
- rose 0.6% in the September quarter 2016.
- mainly due to rises in the prices received for electricity supply, gas supply and water supply, sewerage and drainage services (+1.3%), sheep, beef cattle and grain farming, and dairy cattle farming (+3.5%) and computer system design (+0.8%).
- partly offset by falls in the prices received for polymer product manufacturing (-2.4%), other non-metallic mining (-9.0%) and computer and electronic equipment manufacturing (-2.5%).
- rose 0.1% through the year to the September quarter 2016.
